Celebrating her husband’s 40th birthday with a disco theme, Grace requested the following Fruity Indulgence cupcakes for their party.
I had lots of fun preparing this order and getting into the glittery disco feel!
I was recently in South Africa to celebrate a very special 18th birthday and Matric Ball (Prom). As requested by the birthday girl, I made a red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting. It was a two-tier topsy turvy-esque cake covered in marbled fondant with gold shoes and butterflies. Unfortunately the weather was humid and very hot which made the cake seem to be ‘melting’. It was enjoyed by all though and the birthday girl loved it!
My beautiful daughter heading off to her ball
Whenever I visit, I also spend time decorating with my daughter and her friends, showing them a few techniques and letting them have fun with fondant. These were some of the pretty results of their endeavours!
Besides the giant carrot cake requested, my mum was also treated her favourite nibble of coconut macaroons.
This week we’re working on a few very exciting projects, including a 40th disco cupcake party! Stay tuned
February, a whole month to celebrate love and to put that extra bit of effort in to show your dearest just how special they are to you.
It’s also a time to let your love interest know that you are waiting in the wings and would do anything for them.
Why not celebrate with a cupcake message?
Or go all out and propose, cupcakes and all!
I look forward to your Valentine requests and promise to make it extra special!
Hello all you cupcake lovers! Happy New Year!, wishing you all a sweet indulgent 2013.
During the 2012 Christmas break in sunny South Africa, I took on a few small baking projects to treat the family
My daughter and i had lots of fun decorating these vanilla and lemon cupcakes with fondant, I let her decide on the final decorations.
To satisfy my mum’s craving for cinnamon rolls, i researched a quick, no yeast recipe and she woke to these one morning.
And of course there had to be chocolate! Layered chocolate cake filled with chocolate frosting and then drenched in a liquid dark chocolate ganache.
Onwards and upwards to an exciting and fun new year!
